Allergymonitor ® is an online service developed by TPS Production with the aim of enabling the recording of clinical symptoms, drug consumption and adherence to specific sublingual and subcutaneous immunotherapy (SLIT, SCIT) by patients suffering from allergic diseases such as rhino-conjunctivitis and asthma.

The system consists of two parts: the web site for the patient (front end) and the website for the doctor (back office). The doctor, through his back office, manages the data entered by the patient. The novelty and strength of the system is a messaging system between doctor and patient based on e-mail, chat or sms. This system is largely automatic and improves the management of the patients and their adherence to the doctor's therapeutic prescriptions.

FrontEnd

The patient can log into the Front End of Allergy Monitor with an ID and a Password provided by the attending Physician. The first screen shows three components. 1) the data related to recordings during clinical diary, which can be organized on a daily or a weekly basis; 2)  the section of the messaging chat with the family doctor; and 3) a link to the pollen calendar.

The inclusion of clinical data (e.g.: symptoms of allergic rhino-conjunctivitis and/or asthma, medication, specific immunotherapy - SLIT - and its possible side effects) is based on simple and appealing "smile" so that it is user friendly and requires no more than 2-3 minutes a day.

The patient can check his own clinical diary, which is a useful tool to facilitate his/her regular data entry and a good knowledge and management of his/her disease.

Backoffice

The doctor accesses the backoffice through a special login received from TPS Production. Through a series of buttons the doctor can, very easily and quickly:

 - Add a new patient

- Edit / delete data from a patient entered

- Enable collection periods of symptoms for the patient, on a daily or weekly basis, and for how many periods it deems appropriate.

- Prescribe the appropriate therapies for individual patients, using the national pharmaceutical formulary regularly updated

- Prescribe any SLIT or SCIT, custom composition of allergens, their doses and the days of administration

Special tools facilitate an easy insertion of frequently used medications, including dose and indication, as well as the cloning of a period of registration so as to avoid having to reenter the same data twice.

The physician can analyze for each patient his/her data registered for ocular symptoms, nasal and bronchial - questions about the quality of life, drugs taken, sublingual vaccine, SLIT side effects.

Symptoms can be then viewed in graphical mode, with different time windows, and they can merged as RTSS (Rhinoconjunctivitis Total Symptom Score) or as Asthma Score. All data can be downloaded into Excel for further analysis. Appropriate icons allow the doctor assessing at a glance the regularity of the recordings, the presence of side effects, periods of suspension, and a list of the patient's diary notes or chat messages.

The system allows automatic alerts to warn the patient/ parents by mail (and soon by SMS) in case the registration of symptoms and/or intake of SLIT has not been regular. A copy of the email is also sent to the doctor.
